NaNoWriMo

So, yes, I’m doing NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) this year and this will be my third attempt. The first time I tried it, 2009, it was a last minute kind of deal and I really had no idea what I was doing. I just started writing. And then I stopped writing shortly thereafter.

Last year I tried again. Having fully committed myself to the whole writing thing, I thought it would be a great challenge and I was excited to see what I could produce. Then I came down with bronchitis. And I stopped writing shortly thereafter.

Well, it is here again and once more I am grabbing the NaNoWriMo bull by the horns. I feel a bit hesitant about the whole thing given 1) my past two experiences, and 2) the fact that I’m going to start a new novel while I work on my current WIP because I feel like it would be cheating to count the words on my current WIP (even though I’m only about 3000 words into it).

Who thinks I’m crazy?
